About Us

American Yacht Restoration (AYR) has developed an impressive array of services offered to meet the needs of the discerning client.

American Yacht Restoration

Starting from a long tradition of quality woodworking craftsmanship, American Yacht Restoration was founded over a decade ago to service the needs of our marine customers. Our founder, Dana Andrews’ vision was instilled early in life by his father’s own boat building business and lifetime woodworking experiences.

Dana went on to earn his industrial technology degree from Fitchburg State Teachers College and went on to teach woodworking classes at various institutions from Perkins School for the Blind to public high schools. He also taught adult education classes, in furniture building and refinishing.

Dana’s entrepreneurial endeavors transitioned him in 1977 from teaching to marine cabinetry. He started work in Martha’s Vineyard and eventually sailed to the Caribbean to repair and restore yachts. He eventually made his roots in South Florida and over the last 18 years has built his company from a one man shop to the fully-staffed, multi-location operation that it is today.

He has assembled a team of qualified woodworkers, who also share the same vision of quality, integrity and efficiency in their work. American Yacht Restoration has developed a leading name in the fine marine woodworking business. As a result, advertising is mostly done through referrals, showing that our quality speaks for itself.

Our vessels range from small tenders to super yachts. We serve them from our two shops located at the Seminole Marine in Palm Beach Gardens and our corporate headquarters in Mangonia Park as well as their dockside locations.
